Music was an important part of the journey for the founders of June. We spent hours listening and exploring different melodies and timbres to find the right fit for the personality of the June Oven.

The kitchen is a very dynamic soundscape. We created three distinct sound sets. All featuring the same vocabulary but each having its purpose in different kitchens.

Default Sound Set
The Default sound set has elements of Kalimba and percussion. We wanted the sound to human and give the user a sense of excitement that their meal was ready!
Muffle

Muffle Sound Set
The Muffle sound set was design specifically for those that wanted to keep their soundscape gentle. We removed a number of elements from the timbre and gave the overall sound a soft muted tone.
Blaster

Blaster Sound Set
Can you guess what this sound set is for? Thats right, its designed to be heard at all costs. We emulated the classic piezo buzzers of a bygone era in appliance sound design. You won't miss these notifications.
You call, the Oven answers.
Because of the connectivity of the oven with the users phone, we needed to make communication easy to understand. By giving the user clear communication between the app and the oven, we were able to give the user the confidence in the connection. Having a high quality playback system onboard the oven allowed for a seamless audio expereince across devices.
